What are Userpoints?
As a registered user of My Local Electrician, you can accumulate userpoints by contributing to My Local Electrician in a number of ways. Points are accumulated as follows:
Logging in = 2 Points
Posting a blog = 20 Points
Add an electrician to the directory = 10 Points
Posting a photo in "The good, the bad and the Ugly" photo gallery = 10 Points
Posting a comment = 5 Points
Ask a Question = 10 Points
What can I do with my points?
Every 3 months (quarterly), the user with the highest points will win a prize by adding comments and/or the writing of blog posts for MLE. The prize will be sent directly to the winner. Once the winner has been identified, all userpoints are reset to zero and the process repeats. No one else will know the balance of another users points.
How will I know if my content is any use for the site?
All content which is relevant to the electrical industry is welcome – you don't need to be a budding writer! So long as your blogs and comments do not contain swearing or abusive behaviour and are relevant. Unfortunately if irrelevant posts are found, they will be removed and a penalty of 10 points will be deducted from your balance for each inappropriate entry. If insufficient points remain on your account, the balance will go into a negative figure.
How do I find the winners?
Each winner will be added to our list of winners which can be found further in this page. The winners information will include the month and year of the win, the prize won and any other relevant information.
Do I need to register for userpoints?
So long as you are a registered user of My Local Electrician, you are automatically enrolled to Userpoints. Simply start adding your content and your points will accumulate automatically for you. If you have forgotten your login details, please click HERE
How will I know if I've won?
The winner will be selected every 3 months (quarterly basis) by the team at My Local Electrician. The winner will be notified by email so please ensure your email address is kept up to date. If you are a winner, your prize will be sent out to you by post.
Where do I go to check my Userpoints balance?
When you are logged into My Local Electrician, click on My Account in your account box on the right side of the page, the Userpoints tab will be on your profile page.
