Periodic Inspection Report to Electrical Installation Condition Report

Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) to replace The Periodic Inspection Report (PIR). The Institute of Engineering & Technology (IET) are proposing changes to their many Parts, Chapters and Appendix of BS7671 the 17th edition wiring regulations. The proposed first amendment to the 17th Edition BS 7671 will be released on the 1st July 2011 & will come into force on 1st January 2012.

The first amendment to the 17th Edition BS 7671:2008 Requirements for Electrical Installations

It looks like the first amendment to BS 7671:2008 Requirements for Electrical Installations may be published on the 1st July 2011 and looks like it will come into force on the 1st January 2012, This does not come as a surprise to me, and I am sure other electricians will also not be surprised!

My local electrical supplies have a range of Doepke consumer units, RCBO's, MCB's & a Garage Consumer Unit for electricians to purchase at really competitive prices. Their 17th edition consumer units come in 3 sizes and come complete with MCB's. Because of this, this really does make these consumer units a great deal. They have plenty of room to work in as well as look pleasing to the eye.

Their Garage consumer unit is IP55 and is also very well made and easy to install.
