Hello!
I'm Kieron, I work in the rail industry maintaining/reparing/fault finding on traction and rolling stock. My apprenticship was served in the RAF, so no domestic experience. I am currently studying towards a BTEc HNC in electrical and electronic engineering, and when this is completed I was looking at taking some domestic course/quals in order for me to possibly set up on my own. I've done quite a bit of research on the internet, but this has just left me slightly confused, so I thought i'd ask somebody in the trade there opinion.
Basically, what do I need? I'm competent in electrical installation, and fault finding on electrical circuits is second nature(due to the constant failing of trains!) so what training/quals would you recommend I undertake?
I've renovated a few houses now, from plastering, plumbing to brick laying etc, so I was looking at going down the 'buildings mainenance' avenue, but would like to add electrical work to my repertoire.
I hope somebody can advise me what course of action to take, thanks in advance
kieron
