Hi all
I'm havin a bit of trouble changing a power socket in my bedroom, I have changed 2 all ready like for like but when I came to the last socket I removed the old one and found that there were three live, neutral and four earth is this normal? and I cant get them to fit into the new socket so how would I do that?

3 comments postedMore than likely a spur to another socket outlet explaining the 3rd cable, the 4th earth could be from the back box to the socket, make sure the live and neutrals go in correct terminals as new sockets are not always in same position as older sockets.

Thanks for the quick answer, but how do I fit all those wires into the new socket which seems to have smaller terminals on the back. There isnt much room to play with, the wires only come out about 3-4 inches?
